The National Diagnostics team has confirmed that Lancashire and South Cumbria’s (LSC) Diagnostic Imaging Network is a ‘Developing’ Network – nine months ahead of the national target of December 2023 – this is a fantastic achievement by colleagues across the network.

BadgerNet Maternity electronic patient record (EPR) was introduced in 2020 as part of plans for a fully integrated maternity service across the four provider trusts in Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Orthoptists are working closer with stroke teams as part of a rehabilitation programme to ensure patients who have had a stroke have sight assessments and treatment required to preserve their vision.

Following the meeting of the NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) on Wednesday 3rd May, a transfer of NHS commissioned adult physical health community services from Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCft) to East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust (ELHT) was confirmed. The two Trusts will now continue to work together to implement this over the next 12 months.

The latest news on the Lancashire and South Cumbria New Hospitals Programme is the recent announcement of two new hospitals to replace Royal Preston Hospital and Royal Lancaster Infirmary on two new sites as part of a rolling programme of national investment in capital infrastructure beyond 2030.
